What to Expect
At your appointment
Before your appointment
According to the purpose of your visit to the doctor, this checklist can assist you to prepare.
- Bring your all documents to doctor’s visit:
- Copies of any tests, x- rays, tests or medical histories related to your medical problem.
- Completed medical history questionnaire.
- A list of all medicines you currently take regularly, including over-the-counter and herbal prescriptions.
- Review any specific directions from your physician about medication restrictions or diet before your appointment
- Ask relatives or friends to join you in case that you want. According to the type of your appointment, you may require somebody to accompany you to home
- Bring a sweater or coat. Our buildings are kept cool to ensure and protect the best function of medical equipment
During Your Appointment
To benefit as much as possible from your appointment, make sure to ask your doctor any inquiries or express any worries you have.
After Your Appointment
What to expect after your appointment:
- If you want to see another physician, we will do our best to arrange additional tests and consultations as soon as possible.
- If you should be hospitalized, we will organize admitting arrangements and give the hospital information before your arrival.

- Your physician may advise you to be admitted to HIH. If so, you may have inquiries.
- Our Admissions page has the information you want to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Admissions at HIH
you are not alone
It is okay to worry about remaining in the hospital. Kindly be aware that you are not alone, as a whole healthcare team will be focused on your well-being and safety.
What Do I Bring?
You will just need the necessary things, for example,
- toilet requisites
- Sleepwear
- slippers
- Any items utilized in your care (i.e., eyeglasses, hearing aids, crutches, prosthetics, C-pap machine and so on.)
Should you require any further personal care items, you can purchase them from our hospital gift shops.
What Paperwork Should I Bring?
Kindly give our hospital caregivers:
- A list of all medicines, herbals or supplements, including dosages
- Living Will (in case that you have one)
- Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare (in case that you have one)
- Any preadmission paperwork.
- Any orders from your physician.
What should not I Bring?
- Large amounts of cash
Kindly do not retain more than 100 pounds in your room. - Jewellery
In case that you are admitted without initial preparations, kindly ask relatives or friends to take them home. - Other Valuables
Laptops, iPods, iPads, and electronics should not be kept in your possession while in the hospital, for safety reasons. Hassabo International Hospital isn’t in charge of lost or stolen things.
When Can My Family and Friends Visit Me?
Visitation policy of HIH:
- Patients admitted to wards visitation from 10 am to 10 pm.
- Patients admitted to the I.C.U visitation from 1 pm to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 6 pm
