What is dietetics?
It is a branch of medicine concerned with the nutrition and its effects on health and the science of applying nutritional principles to the planning and preparation of foods and regulation of diet both in health and disease.

Dietitian is a health professional who is fully skilled in assessing, diagnosing and treating the patient who have dietary and nutritional problems.

We provide comprehensive nutrition assessment and counseling for all age groups who have wide variety of conditions that affect diet, eating and health. Our registered dietitians are experts in caring for you and your family to reach your required nutritional goals. We work closely with a multidisciplinary team from the other specialties in the hospital to provide you with the most complete care available. Our registered dietitians help you with any questions and concerns about your diet to take you directly to your goal. We are also committed to supporting you from start to finish. When to see a dietitian
Diet plays a vital role in keeping you healthy and avoiding symptoms. So, anyone can benefit from seeing a dietitian. But if you experience any of the following criteria, you should consult a dietitian.

- If you need to gain or lose weight
Losing weight is really challenging. So if you are looking to meet your nutritional goals as quickly as possible, a registered dietitian can thoughtfully and effectively help you develop a healthy restricted-calorie eating plan. On the other hand, if you need to gain weight, make an appointment with a registered dietitian to develop an eating plan containing additional calorie sources for healthy weight gain. - If you have Diabetes, Cardiovascular Problems or High Blood Pressure

Information About The Clinic
To be on top of your health, you should see a dietitian even without symptoms. In other words, it is not wise to wait until you suffer from unhealthy weight changes to go to your physician. So if you have a condition affected by your eating habits, make an appointment with a registered dietitian as soon as possible.
On visiting the clinic, our registered dietitians will review your dietary patterns and medical history to develop a unique nutrition plan fitting your needs. At the end of your visit, you will be provided with a concise plan to begin your journey toward enhanced health.
During your visit:
- You’ll be aware of how what you eat affects your physical performance, disease or condition.
- Your dietitian will work with you to discuss and set your unique nutrition plan.
- You will learn skills and techniques to be able to apply needed changes (i.e. label reading, how to balance meals to feel satisfied
When you schedule your appointment, we will ask you to provide important information that will help us evaluate your current condition:
- Be prepared with the questions you want to ask
- Bring a notebook and pen, we encourage you to take notes
- If this is a follow up visit, you have to remember to write down the changes you have experienced since your last visit.
- All records that refer in any way to your condition
- A complete list of your medications
- All prior medical records, including x-ray films, biopsy reports, lab and/or pathology records
- Any necessary referrals or prior authorization required by your insurance company
Patients are generally seen by appointment, however if your situation is urgent, contact emergency services and visit our around the clock Emergency department where every effort will be made to get you on top of your health.
